South Congress With Kids

For my family, a typical weekend involves strolling up and down South Congress. Some of my first memories of Austin when Tim and I were dating is on South Congress. We have always said that we will retire there. It really is a combo of all of the best things. The food, the music, the people. It keeps Austin weird just like we like it.

Don’t forget to take a picture in front of the “I love you so much.” sign at Jo’s Coffee. And while you’re at it, grab an Iced Turbo. You’ll thank me later.

When we know the kids are going to be joining along we always go to Homeslice Pizza! If you ask to sit outside they have an outdoor area in the back with ping pong tables and plenty of room for your kiddos to dance it out. Also, they will give your kids pizza dough to play with while you wait for food!

After dinner, don’t forget to go get a cupcake at Hey Cupcake! They have a little grassy area for the kids to run while you sit at a picnic table and people watch. And really, it’s the best people watching. The cupcakes aren’t too shabby either.

I hope you enjoyed following along our beautiful afternoon in our amazing city! It doesn’t get much better than a spring day on South Congress with my kids! Now to plan your trip to visit!
